(...and still watching the movie)
WELCOME OUR SPECIAL GUEST TO KOREA: The new student teachers have arrived and one of them being, Mel Secrest from good ol' TFC... she's still the outgoing girl I remember her to be from my college days of yore.
TSUNAMI TALES: This morning during a TCIS staff inservice several staff told of what happened to them while they were in Thailand, very serious stuff. I'll paraphrase how one guy put this into perspective that made me think: "After the disaster, our security was shattered. There was no 'salvaging the rest of the vacation' because whenever we heard someone shout our instinct was to run, even though it was a shout of someone trying to having fun".
IN CONCLUSION: I'm not having to deal with that but its always good to learn about and seek to understand something and see life from a different perspective through various circumstances. Currently, I'm still having to learn about how to properly grieve with John's death. A good friend of mine said that grief is like gas: harder to quantify, see and manipulate to fit where you want it to go. Time to close but I see outside that its starting to snow!!! (gee, I hope Mel didn't take me seriously when I told her that Korea has a tropical climate
...just kidding). Keep seeking.

Hi Will, I am glad that your fellow workers were safe durring there horrific vacation. As a missionary friend of Dr. Gardner said, we are there on the ground with them through prayer.
I am very happy that Mel is with you, it makes me feel better knowing that she is looked out for by such a good friend.
I have known for a long time about her student teaching over there, but it sure hit home yesterday when I walked past Wildwood and knew she wasn't there.
I already miss her and can't wait to see her in April. you are missed also, it sure has been a while since my friends and I have seen your face. Come visit sometime when we are all here at TFC.
Thanks for the shoutout, it makes me feel like I'm at home when people call me "Mel" So, am I ever going to see you around here or are you mainly off campus? I have a few quick questions about stuff I'm sure you know all about so, drop by or give us a call (not quite sure of the number yet) oh, and do know where to get a good cheap international phone card? Everyone has been great! Rachel and I are soulmates and I really feel at home here in this little America away from America, and yet, still Korea too! Blessings brother-Mel
Hey Mel, I actually stopped by your place but you and Rachel were out and about. We'll hook up (yeah I live off-campus... so when I'm on campus is rare unless I'm hunting for my guys or going to class (plus you're in the elementary building which isn't my usual hang out... though I have been known to drop by and visit the staff at the middle school dorm.
