  • I'm not that creative with travel plans either, I usually go where someone is and I have a friend that will be in Shanghai over the summer so I thought I would wait until he was there for a visit.  I don't even know if I have a spring break, when is yours?

  • I don't know anyone that has been to Beijing but there is a guy on xanga that is in the US army that just traveled to Shanghai that might be able to help you out.  His xanga name is woegookbun he seems to know a lot about the area and always seems to have an explanation for the crazy stuff that happens to me

  • Hey Will,

I have always been a big fan of travel agents and only ever wasted my own time when I tried to plan my own trips because I am just so bad at researching.  If you are in Korea, I recommend a travel agency named Tour 2000 (or actually Åõ¾î 2000) who puts together a nice package that includes a bunch of attractions that are partially or completely funded by the Chinese government.  You can probably get 4 days in Beijing for $500 including airfare, 4 star hotels and all expenses paid (except tips but that's only about 10 bucks a day).

    Hope that helps.

  • Oh, come on! Shaun of the Dead is a great movie. Perfect for just about anything. Fun movie night with the guys, Romance with Zombies for the Girls. Truly is a great thing. But Yes, Lord of the Rings: The REturn of the King should have been up there, however, I'm not heart-broken that it was not

  • oh wow....didn't mean to come across like that. Yah, so i wasn't coherant last night..it was too late and I knew I had to wake up too early.

i have a cool homework project that involves taking a picture each day of either myself, or a street corner everyday at the same time, or a photograph or object in wierd places like on a grocery shelf or even put a poster up and see how it changes over the course of a month with weather and human aspect. The project is all about seeing how things change over the course of time. Now I just have to figure out which direction i want to take with it.

  • Well, you would have won the pool! I am exactly 6'0" good call!

  • i took the picture with my own two hands, thank you very much!

  • Hey Will, you asked about the master program.  Well, I hope to use it in a christian ministry...like a non-profit or something.  I volunteer at a Christian ministry called Christian Women's Job Corps-Nashville.  It's a program for working poor women to help them to become self-sufficient.  It's a southern baptist model that is replicated all over the US.  Maybe it could be something that is useful in overseas work too.  I used to volunteer about 30 hours a week, but I cut it down to only 2 days now that I am going to school.  If you are interested, the website for the job corps is http://www.cwjcnashville.org.  I really like it. It's a great way to reach out and make a difference. There are alot of opportunities to disciple and share the Gospel to these women.  My classes right now are like sooo boring..its like all theory...organization theory, statistics, policy analysis, and information technology.  ugh.  Makes me long for the days of fun stuff like Hermeneutics.  hehe.
