DOIN’ THE CHARLESTON: Down in Charleston with my sister and her husband enjoying my nephews (as is Sasha, see pic below).
They’re great to meet and a joy to hold, are you envious or what? Later playa!

REALITY SHOWS: So last night I hooked up my camcorder to the TV and presented a partial look at life at TCIS/Daejon for my parents and Rach. I cannot believe how much I have left off. Maybe deep down my sub-conscience is working overtime to remove memories of Korea. Yeah working with kids seems rewarding at times but other times I am mystified as how youth pastors, teachers and RAs do it, I truly am. Got some great pics already since being home… but I will have to show it later as my card reader as well as everything else is still packed up (i.e. procrastinate) Having great times taking Rach around Concord, enjoying the greenery and the sound of wind rushing through the trees. How could anyone live in a city is beyond me, no offense to those currently trapped in urban environments, I feel your pain.

SWEET HOME CAROLINA: I am home. I arrived safely last night. Total travel time was about 26 hours but seeing my fam and Rachel who drove from Toccoa to my house in 3 hours (a record not even my Dad can break) to see me. Currently due to jetlag I was up at 5:30am. So now comes the waiting part when everyone else wakes up…

DISCIPLINE IS A GOOD THING: Cordell continues to teach me in the arts of humility, however, deep down he knows I am his Daddy.
FRIDAY IS ALMOST HERE: Dinner
was awesome, more Mexican food in the last two days than you can shake
a pinata at. This pleases me greatly. Friday is the last
day for the guys. One last hurrah at harassing students.
That’s the part of this job that I will miss the most (eating Mexican
dinners is a close second). Tomorrow night, going with Drew and a
couple others out to partay for a fond farewell. Don’t be a hata,
playa.
3 days,

HEY DADDY-O, THIS CAT’S A TECHNOLOGICAL “WHIZ”: Read this.
LIFE GOES ON: Graduation
was nice, but with no seniors in my dorm it was not heart
rending. A couple of my guys from Springer came up to me and gave
me hugs and said they were going to miss me. I almost lost it
(key word: almost).
That was the nicest gesture and could not have come from a sweller
bunch. I am still working on my Korean video of life here in
Daejon. I have so much to add before I leave… ugh! I hope
I can get it all in. I suck at video editing, though with a
little help from this person, I could easily win an emmy… but in all honesty I just pray that nobody gets seasick while watching.
TESTING 1-2, TEST TEST: Final
exams are here!!! Well, they start on Tuesday but thus the end of
the year has arrived (again). I’m excited and only 7 more days
remain…

“CON-GRADUATIONS”: Tomorrow
is graduation for the senior class of 2005. All I can say is,
bout stank time! Haha. Some guys I will miss alot, and
others I did not know too well. One of the guys from Springer
dorm… ah Jaewoo… such a neat guy. How many times we tricked
him into believing something ridiculously absurd (i.e. purple
elephants) which I have carried over to several guys here at C&J.
LEADER OF THE PACK: Drew and I continue to have our race
to see who can finish packing and cleaning first, I was out in the lead
but Drew has caught up like a persistant sled dog (mush mush) I
refuse to allow any non-American to beat me, much less a
Canadian. U-S-A!!! U-S-A!!!
THE WRITE WAY: Monday I
got away from the dorm to escape into a grand mug of white chocolate
caramel frappacino over at SB and yummy it was. I began trying to
put into words my
feelings of the past two years here in Korea… and I could not.
As I sat there reflecting upon living, working and attempting to
minister to others in a foreign land is difficult and quite painful.
Attempting to draw upon that from pen to paper I simply could
not. It was as if the wounds of my heart were still there,
unhealed and too painful to treat. Wounds of this nature are
the worst kind as they usually become infected spreading discontent,
anger, bitterness throughout one’s character inducing an atrophy of
godliness and replacing it with an anemic fleshly attitude. While
there has been good times, I feel that if I were to write only the
good, then it negates my experiences and makes the mountain-top
experiences more like mole hills.

IN THE “EYE” OF THE BEHOLDER:
Drew: (insistantly) Dude,
listen to me, this Queer Eye is all about learning how to look good
and… you know becoming more cultured and stuff.
Will: (totally appalled) Well why would I want to look good for five gay guys? That’s just messed up.
Drew: (laughs) No, you aren’t looking good for them but for everyone around you (waves hands)
Will: (hesitantly, scratches chin) Alright, if I’m not too busy I’ll pop it in and watch but don’t expect anything.
Drew: (smugly hands over the DVD) Oh you won’t be let down.
The mystery is over, that is how I came into possession of the second
season of Queer Eye for the Straight Guy. Of course, I did not
bother informing anyone about it so there really was no mystery at
all. Yesterday after watching the first episode, it is quite
interesting. Yes, the fab 5 are flamboyantly gay but in a funny
way. Thankfully they are not flaming as then I would probably
lose the kimbop I had for lunch. I walked away from the first
episode with respect for those who are gifted with an insight on
design and color coordination. You have the straight guy who I
can relate to very well, living very basic or simple life… the guys
come in and do a total revamp of the apartment, personal looks,
wardrobe and grooming to create the new and improved image (which does
not look like he just stepped off the float from the gay pride parade
might I add). The whole show is about them helping improve other
peoples’ lives by improving their image and instilling confidence into
who they are. That is what I have taken away from the show… which is
something I wish I could help others do but alas I am lost in the
purgatory of fashion design ignorance. So better start with
reading the above. In closing, Drew, once again I have learned
from you, next Friday I want to buy you a round, my metro friend,
my hat is off to you.

“YEAH SHERIFF, I THINK HE’S PACKIN’ SUMTHIN”: Current Room Condition – Junk Heap. As the countdown clock hits 15 days and I thought I would lead by example and start throwing things around and show the guys what a packed up room is to look like:
