Month: July 2005

  • WE ARE FAMILY:  Day 1 of the reunion commences tonight with the annual fish fry.  I have never been a huge sea food fan. “But Will,” you interject, “Didn’t you live in Korea where sea food is a huge staple of the average person’s diet?”.  Yes, and for that I curse McDonald’s for their fatty American goodness *ugh*… so since I’ve been back I’ve been slowly weening myself off the fast foods that I have missed and the diet has begun however with the southern food and drink that has been a huge staple of  the average southerner’s diet is truly counterproductive to the efforts of any chance of a shrinking waistline.  Thankfully my dad has commented on that several times in front of other people.  I mean, what’s up with that?  What do you do in a situation like that?  Several scenarioes run through my mind but all are definitely not appropriate.

QUESTION FOR THE DAY:  What does the “T” stand for in “T-shirt”?

HMMM.. VERY INTERESTING:  I heard on the news the other day that Hilary Clinton will vote to accept conservative Supreme court nominee, John Roberts… okay I’m going to throw this out, but this is a ploy for her to reach out to conservatives for her bid to take the White House.  You heard it here first!  Oh wait, maybe not.

As for pictures from the trip, I’ll have them posted when I get back to Pendleton where my newly untested DSL awaits for me.

  • GEORGIA’S ON MY MIND:  Road trip continues, after traveling from Louisville to our nation’s capital now back down south in Douglas, GA (don’t bother looking for it on a map because I doubt it will show up) for the annual family reunion.  Pics to come, later playas.

  • WIRED UP:  Ah, tomorrow I will be connected to the internet at my grandma’s house *contented sigh* Its not wireless (a.k.a. nerd’s version of bling bling) but is is DSL.  Huzzah!  Sunday I found this community fellowship church near Clemson and it was very small, very informal and pretty good.  When I get back from road trip I will have to visit again.

SO CLASSY:  The war wages on between Tri-County Tech and Greenville Tech on who will receive my most bountiful out-of-state tuition money.  The options are so many and that I feel like I’m not in a hallway with open doors but a huge corn field with no signs and vegetation so think you can’t see three feet ahead.  Thank God I don’t live in Nebraska.

SUMMER’S END:  Hard to believe that the new staff will be leaving for SK, hope they cope and adjust well to their new environs.  I’m glad to be free from all of that, well, take that back South Carolina is quite different too… but at least there are trees and greens.  South Carolina – 1  South Korea – 0

  • A CLASS ALL BY ITSELF:  So with my folks support and ability to take my vent, we have looked at different scenarios at ways to become a physical/occupational/sports med-type therapist.  It looks to be a long road with the high level of competition in the field I will have to build up some serious volunteer hours at the hospital first if I am to be considered for the program.  So right now, it looks like I am going to take one class this fall while volunteering and working (both yet to be known at this time).

Tomorrow I drive back to Pendleton and once again continue making the crazy phone calls to get crazy questions answered concerning transferable college credits and whatnot but which reveal more crazy questions upon which require more phone conversations.  My mom says life is good…. but I would like to think there’s always improvement somewhere down the road.

QUICK QUIP:  How to know if you are a uber geek, when your best “momma joke” is: Your momma thinks square roots are vegetables.

  • Hey Everyone, I’m still alive and kickin’ like a chicken… um…. yah.  Currently living in Pendleton with my lovable grandmother while I sort out the mess of colleges and classes that I will be taking this fall (with registration only a couple days away its intense and pretty stressful).  There is no internet at the house to distract me… that’s got to change.  See ya peeps.
