  • FROST-Y ROADS
Have you ever been in a situation looking back at life where you
wondered “what if..”?  What if you did decide to throw caution to
the winds, took that road into unfamiliar territory, something that you
felt passionate about?  As Robert Frost’s most famous line goes,
“I took the road less traveled and that has made all the
difference.”  I have thought about this for the past couple of
days, I haven’t told anyone about these ideas because, well, they are
so off-the-wall you should probably have me thrown into an mental
institution (they’re coming to take me away, haha).  See, I enjoy drawing comic strips and I would love
to learn more about the art and improving (I suppose this was instilled
into me from watching too many cartoons as a child).  As easy as
it would sound just to go take classes at some art school, see, I am
already taking classes studying phsyical therapy.  I am enjoying
the Medical Terminology class alright, it is a very good and bright
career choice versus the low demand for artists *sigh*.  How sad
is that, I am almost 26 years old but sounding like a 50 year old.

    WHATTA MAN
A small group from church has been doing this study on biblical manhood
that I recently joined in.  Yesterday at the session, one
statement really struck all of us, “Real men reject passivity, but
accepts responsibility.”  If you are a man, doesn’t that blow you
away?  The example was given of Adam not stopping Eve from eating
the forbidden fruit, but watching her, doing nothing.  That is a
good example but the way it struck me was how I need to fight being
lazy.  Laziness is something I excell at, unfortunately.
Wow… rejects passivity, but accepts responsibility… that’s a real kicker.

  • Remember my friend Bryan that you remind me so much of?  His heart is cartooning, specifically anime.  Very talented at it, I might say.

Yes, passivity for a man is not a good thing in all cases, such as with Adam, but being passive in general is not necessarily a bad thing.  It’s a personality trait that enables some men to be more patient, kind, etc.  I think instead of rejecting passivity in general, men should seek discernment of when to exercise initiative.

  • You know…..I was at my aunt’s house tonight and we were walking in her background…which is pretty big since it’s in the middle of Iowa and has a lot of land. we walked through a cornfield too. sorry for that rabbit trail….so my cousins ride umm. whatever they are called…not go karts…..but i can’t think of what they are called…atvs maybe. anyways…so they made all these trails through the wooded parts….and this is where i get to the good part. i know you are at the edge of your seat! my aunt and sister took one trail, and i took another one by myself. so i said…..”i took the road less traveled, and that has made all the difference.” wow. are we on the same page or what!!>!>!>!
