  • Its Game week here in the States.  College football starts this Saturday.  With tickets in hand Rach and I will make the trek up to Clemson to see the Tigers play.  It reminds me of how desparate I was for my Americana while in Korea.  Staying up til 7am on a Sunday morning to listen to a game online… crazy.  Pierce and I skipped church one time to watch a game (or was that basketball?).  We got the main sermon points from some people afterwards… so I was still super-spiritual.

This past Saturday I came home from working half a day to watch a high school football game on ESPN.  The quarterback of the school is amazing good (committed to play for Clemson next year).  Anywho, he runs the ball and is about to be tackled by the DB.  The QB freakin’ stiff-armed him!!!  Wow!

WHAT DO THE FIVE FINGERS SAY TO THE FACE?  SMACK!

Rachel had been dreading the start of football season but slowly she’s actually starting to look forward to it, though not as intense as me… she’s getting there… when she wants to put on face paint and cover her whole body with it and insists on running across the field I’ll put a stop to it.  No worries there.

In other news within the next couple of weeks we have some pretty big decisions to make we would greatly appreciate any prayers that we would see where God is leading us.

  • A couple nights ago Rachel found a biography program on Lucille Ball (of “I Love Lucy”) on TV while I was washing the dishes.  She and Desi were married after just knowing each other for six months.  They later divorced  after about 20 years due to his drinking problem and womanizing.  After we had gone to bed she turns to me and says she hopes we don’t have problems like Luscy and Desi.  Semi-asleep I told her that I won’t womanize if she doesn’t drink.  She quickly reminded me that she does not drink.  Alright then, I won’t drink if she doesn’t womanize.  The bruise on my ribs has almost healed.

Moral of the story: Keep it to yourself if you do not want your woman to womanize.

  • My sister’s boyfriend told me this video reminded him of me.  Do I breathe that heavily?

  • I was not feeling very well last night so Rachel quickly made up some orange juice.  As I was drinking it the thought occurred to me:  Orange juice is yellow!  Well I’m off to work.

  • Bleary-eyed our hero squints at his monitor in the early hours of the morning (7:30am) before heading off for work.  He has never been a coffee person much to the chagrin of Virginia Hood.  That was, however, before he tried his wife’s special mocha.  Mmmm.  Now he is awake and alert thanks to his wife all is well.  Sorry Slavebucks, you cannot have his arm and leg for a cup of your steaming goodness this day for he has my own.

    Rachel Mocha Recipe

3 tablespoons of Great Value brand hot choco mix
1 tablespoon of McDaniel’s Gormet Blend Instant Coffee (Old World Classic)
    1 cup of water
    1/2 cup of 1% milk

Heat the water in the microwave for 1.5 minutes and pour into coffee mug.
Heat the milk for 30 seconds and add to said mug.
Add the mix and coffee, stir and chug.

  • HAIKU FRIDAY

    Peeps in Taejon work,
    after a short summer break.
    I did not get one.

502457_box_3 PACKING UP:  I am moving up.  Learning how to ship packages around the country and sometimes Canada.  For those of you who want to know why many sellers do not like to ship worldwide its because it means a lot of extra paperwork.  Sadly, a package to Canada which is basically a northward extension of the U.S. costs more and time to print up the right forms and make sure all the handling is done correctly.  Oh well, I am moving up.  Rachel has started back to school this week and seems to be doing okay.  She is in the class with nine tough mannerly-challenged sixth and eight graders.

  •  GOING TO THE HUKILAU
Had an amazing time at Bethany’s family luau held in Gainesville Friday night. Much mahalos to her for remembering me. Ran into some old familiar faces. Said “old” person has been on my back to post pictures seeing as how someone forgot to change their batteries.

B’s dad gave an interesting history of Hawaii.  I will share it in another post but it involves the Tower of Babel.

  • THE NEW DO
car I realized that I have slowly over the course of time drifted away from the orginal purpose of my blog: a vehicle to pursue knowledge and hilarity in my life.  So without further ado I give you my thought for today.  My wife can sure cook good.

I love to brag about Rachel’s cooking to whoever is listening.  I told her after tonight that she could throw whatever is in the garbage can into a casserole and put in in the oven she would make it taste great!  She could give ol’ Der Iron Chef or Hippie (whichever he may be) a true run for his money no doubt!  Bah!  I guarantee Rachel could take Jaime Oliver to the kitchen and beat him like a rented mule…  yes, you read that correctly I said, “a rented mule”!  You heard it here, folks.  That’s the word.
