  • My granny is trying to get rid of furniture.  Her house is just too big for her and she’s looking at scaling down.  Rachel and I jumped to claim a nice book shelf.  We were dusting it and came across my grandfather’s old Clemson saber/sword from back in the day.  He bought it at a garage sale… no idea how much it costs but talking to another Clemson fan who likewise received his sword from his grandfather said mine was in much better condition.  I am still trying to learn more about it, like how much one cost back then, how much they’re going for currently, ect.

I have a cool sword now and it is now proudly hung over my desk.  You’re truly not a man until you have a sword.  I’ve taken a few swings with it and boy does it give you a weird thrill… yet after awhile my elbow started to get sore from the sudden starts and stoppages… my battle experience is growing.

    Hope you all are well.

  • Tonight was our last small group for the year.  A mini-Christmas thing… afterwards I got my arse handed to my by Smed and Rachel at Ziggity.  The weekend is coming soon and we’ll be heading up to my grandmothers for Saturday to rendezvous with my mom & dad.  They’ve been so good to us.

I finished “I Am Legend” a couple days ago and even though its a really short story (160 pages) its one of those psychological-horror books that tackles not only the horror outside but internally as well as the main character battles the effects isolation takes on him.  Imagine that you are the last person alive and everyone else contracted a disease that turns them into a vampire.  During the day you go out search for supplies and repair your home but you have to be inside before nightfall because all the vampires come for you trying to break in.  How would you survive?

  • The apartment is now wireless… welcome to the 2st century o’ building from the 1950′s.  It was way easier than I anticipated, getting my laptop adapter card to work and whatnot was a huge worry for me.  Major props to my computer suave cousin graduate of Nerd U for his assistance, encouragement and promptly stopping me when I almost installed Norton Internet Security (big no-no).

I recently purchased a snazzy lil’ graphic tablet to help with some photoshop projects that I’ve been meaning to get around and now that Rach can do her online work via the laptop I am free to work to my heart’s content or until 10pm when I go to sleep.

Clemson is going to the Peach Bowl New Year’s Eve… mom and dad are considering getting tickets and wanted to know if I’d be interested… hmmmmm.

Finally, tonight Rach and I went over to the Wetmore’s and helped with the bread ministry.  It was time well invested and meeting some nice people.

Oh look at the time… almost 10.  Later guys!

  • I think I need to post more (I mean I did get suckered into paying $100 for premium long long ago by a certain someone who will go unnamed).

  • Hey, long time no see, right?  Right.  Anywho, I have my parents and grandmother asking me what I would like for Christmas… I just threw out that I needed a new camera for taking snapshots, (one that does not require a 3 second delay like my current one).  I am horrible at telling people what I want because what I desire is always out of everyone’s price range.  Maybe I need to think smaller and more :)   Any bright ideas?  I was thinking a Sony Cybershot.  Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Rachel and I drove up to NC to be with my mom & dad for Thanksgiving.  Its been good thus far.  God has been working in my life alot lately in regards to just growing.  A couple months ago our church co-hosted a Men of Purity weekend led by Pure Life Ministries and it was incredible.  Talk about opening eyes to the ugliness of sin and how great is the Father’s love to all of us… blew me away.  My personal time with God has improved in quality and quantity.  So I guess growing where I’m planted is my current status even though I’d much rather be somewhere else, though where else is I’m not quite sure but maybe up near Greenville, SC or closer to ATL.  However with Rach and her Master’s and her job in the school I suspect we’ll be in Toccoa for awhile… which I have learned to accept and not let it get me down.  Getting to know some great men at church through the Wednesday morning prayer breakfast has been such an encouragement to me… That’s it for now, as my buddy Chris likes to say, “later”.

  • Its Homecoming this weekend at TFC… we get the extreme pleasure of hosting the Ostlies.  Rachel’s slaving away on grad homework and I worked a little this morning to pump up my overtime (Christmas is around the corner as Wal-Mart reminds).  That is all.

  • I know where Rachel and I’ll be for my birthday next year.  Woohoo!

Rachel started her second and last year into her Master’s level classes.  I’m still working at Osborne’s working hard attempting, but not having much success climbing the short ladder there and paying bills.  Same old same old with me… how much longer?  We will see.  We’ve decided to fly up to Minnesota for Christmas to be with her extended family (pray for excellent snowmobiling weather).  Would’ve been nice to drive through Chicago and seen our friends Rachel and Jared, but 20 hours in a car… no thank you.

The school year started back up at TFC and students returned.  It was good to see some familiar faces from last year.  I’m looking forward to starting up the fall semester with an excellent group of kids in my Sunday school class.  They are pretty awesome.  I have taught horrible/boring lessons but they do not care.  As long as there is snack afterwards all is forgiven.
