  • HAIKU FRIDAY!!!

    Worked all day outdoors,
the sky was blue with sun shine.
    Sunburned to a crisp.

    THE DELOACH APPROACH
Trent and his wife Liz  drove down for a visit on their way down to South GA.  It was such a great time to see him, Trent to me is the greatest guy in the world.  He is all about encouraging and values people.  I shared about my frustrations with life and he just encouraged me.  Did he quote a paragraph from the Bible?  No.  Did he tell me to read my Bible more?  No.

I've tried opening up with people in order to become more transparent but those responses are typical to what I have been told... so I don't share with those people any more.  He sincerely said that he saw God working.  Wow.  Instead of trying to fix the problem the "man way" he trusts God to fix it.  Wow.

Rachel and I have been reading through the gospel of Luke together and its funny that the whole "relationship with God" is not really taught.  We're told to believe and share with others about Him.  Jesus, while on earth, dealt with so many problems started by man's attempt to "fix" problems.  Jesus showed or told them that God is doing something.

So what's up with you in your part of the world?

  • SEVEN YEAR NICHE
Today was my final in A&P... I am afraid to even guess what I made.  About mid-way through the semester my heart just was not in it.  As of today I am no longer a student at GTC... Lord willing I hope to take some classes in computer technology (networking) sometime in the not-too distant future.

I confessed to Rachel that one of my biggest fears is not knowing what to do with my life.  I watched Last Holiday with Dan and it was a pretty good movie.  I'm not a huge Queen Latifah fan but the movie was well done.  Basically Latifah, who is a coupon clipper penny pincher, finds out she has a terminal disease and has 3 weeks to live so decides to splurge all her money and make her dream a reality.  Moral of the story, life is too short to be afraid to enjoy it.  If you haven't seen it go rent it.

Back to my confession, this fear has truly eaten away at me since college.  What is out there?  What is there to do?  Its bad enough that when people ask me what my future plans are and I cannot give any concrete plans its like I feel judged as a lesser person for not getting my act together.  Do I have a niche?  Rachel seems to think so and she's willing to help me find it (God bless her soul).

    BIRTHDAY GIRL!
If you see this girl in the next 50 minutes, give her 25 whatevers... I got mine in early, as you can see...

  • HAIKU FRIDAY (yet another TRIPLE DEUCE)!!!

    All this I accept
from Him: the good and the bad,
    would like to know why.

    He does not tell me.

Yet, I swallow the good times

    but choke on the bad.

    Honesty is good,
    especially before God,
    I forget my role.

    AN EXTENDING FAMILY DINNER
My parents have already met Rachel's folks and they get along quite well.  My dad was mesmorized with Craig's run in with African mambas (not to be confused with this mamba).  I cannot wait to see my fiancee.  Countdown 28 days.

  • IN THE ROUGH
[Note: I am not posting this in search of pat answers.  Trust me, I know them all and then some (that's the bad side of having a degree in biblical studies).  Most times they just do not suffice the ache in my soul in my need for Him.]

Today was hard.  No, my boss was not upset with me. No, Rachel has not called off the wedding (to my knowledge).  I was becoming very frustrated with work where some of my equipment was giving me fits, I was out of water and it was hot and very dusty outside.  At one point I had to sit down and just tell God how I felt.  I was so blunt and honest that even Christine would have been shocked to hear some of the words that came out of my mouth.  No, thank goodness I was not struck down but He listened which He's really good at that I have learned.

Later I was pondering the great mysteries of Life and God's ways... why do we as people tend to instantly blame or become upset with God for everything bad?  Thinking over this, my tendancy to blame God probably stems from my childhood belief that I was the butt of some ongoing cosmic joke gone bad.  It was good to vent but at the same time scary to see some of these issues that have laid dormant in my heart rearing their ugly heads.  So I ask Christ to change my attitude and view of Him and how He works.  In view of this, be prepared for tomorrow is Haiku Friday.

  • SCHOOL'S OUT FOR THE SUMMER
Today was the last day of classes, I was surprised to learn.  Now I can work full time at Geotrack, I put in my last day as the 19th.

    HELP WANTED
Just found out I did not get the job.  Bummer.  I am feeling a tad
down, apparently they hired a guy who had a degree in that sort of
field (stupid biblical studies degree).  It would have been nice to
have the security of a job when I move to Toccoa.

  • HAIKU FRIDAY!!! (TRIPLE DUECE EDITION)

    I don't rap too good,
    and my rhymes are cheesy
    no bling for sheezy.

    If I were this guy
I would have a lot to say
    how I love Wal-Mart.

    Oh, where's my huli?
    Hawaiian chicken goodness,
    Anna ate it all!

Ah, I feel better already.  It rained yesterday so I couldn't work but today looks to be a kiler.
